Attention EasyLovers! Celebrate Labor Day weekend in the way the West Coast has always intended you to– with ocean breezes blowing through your hair while you groove to funky indie beats on the beautiful sand dunes of Newport Beach, CA. Doesn’t that sound pleasant? Pacific Festival on September 2, 2012 promises just that. The cool OC festival lineup includes Mayer Hawthorne, Poolside, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., etc. and most recently added, YACHT. Also, DJS Bag Raiders, Cassette, Goldroom, and Miami Horror, etc. wil be spinning some nu-disco and deep house from sun up to sun down.

The unique thing about this festival is that everything is catered around the easy flows of Summer, like the waves of the Pacific. There will be local food and art present as well as lush VIP services. The artists are just who you (and we) would love to listen to at an Orange County festival, and we’ve gotta admit, it’s a nice change of pace from all the raves and clubs we’ve been exhausting ourselves at.

Chill out, grab some friends, and meet us at Pacific Festival!

There’s still time to get tickets HERE and you can check out their full site HERE.

Thirsty Summer Weekends

tumblr m8l121LocZ1qze2c8o1 1280 Thirsty Summer Weekends

It’s the peak of Summer and you know what that means. You’ve got to make like Curiosity and traverse the universe as much as possible before Fall obligations tie you down (school, anyone?). We’ve been keeping busy ourselves by popping up at music festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival back in June and HARD Summer this last weekend, as well as taking a fancy vacation to a little island named Ibiza. The warm nights are one of the few good things to come out of this merciless heat so to show our thanks to the Gods of Night, we’ve prepared some audio-gustatory cocktails to share. These have been our anthems of summer so far and some are brand new, enjoy!

Boys Noize- XTC
Paired with: Liquid XTC (30 ml Limon rum, 15 ml melon liqueur, 15 ml Blue Curacao liqueur, 15 ml lemon juice, 90 ml pineapple juice)
Boys Noize has been opening his sets with this song and we can’t wait for the new album drop in October. This single pretty much guarantees its amazingness.

Risque – Starlight (Alvin Risk Remix)
Paired with: Vodka Tonic
Kaskade used this track in one of his Freaks of Nature tour vids, appropriate since Alvin Risk has been has been providing support for the tour. Think happy fantasy music.

deadmau5 – There might be coffee
Paired with: a Martini (1 1/2 oz vodka, 3/4 oz dry vermouth)
The control deadmau5 has over combining technology with music is awe-inspiring. Here’s to the anticipated release of his new album on Sept. 25th titled “>insert album title here<".

Jack Beats & Dillion Francis – Epidemic
Paired with: Tequila shots!
Go ahead and add this to your family of Dillon Francis hits. The track isn’t a deviation from Dillon’s track record but that’s what we love about it.

Knife Party – Rage Valley
Paired with: Shots. Multiple ones. Of anything 100 proof. ‘Til you can’t feel your face.
Hold on tight for this bumpy ride.

Azealia Banks – 212
Paired with: Whiskey on the rocks.
Still can’t get over this song. Either you love it or you hate it but its release during Winter last year cheated the track of the season it really deserves.

Snoop Lion – La La La (prod. by Major Lazer)
Paired with: Bloody Mary (1 oz Vodka, 3 oz tomato juice, 2 red hot sauce, 2 green hot sauce, 1 dash Worcestershire sauce, 0.5 oz lemon juice, 1 pinch salt, 1 pinch peppers, 1 stalk celery)
Why not? The drink confuses us like Snoop’s new name but when both are composed of quality ingredients like La La La’s reggae à la Major Lazer then sure, we’ll give it a try!

and for your hangover…

Poolside – California Sunset
Paired with: Any cold beer
“Daytime disco”
