It Was Vintage 69′

“Without music, life would be a mistake…. I would only believe in a God who knew how to dance.”

-Friedrich Nietzsche

The moment I turned twenty I began having a religious midlife crisis. I realized that the only place of worship that I would find suitable at this point in my life would be a dance floor and the only pastors I would listen to would be quality djs that were sending positive vibes to those listening. I did not have the privilege of attending neither Coachella or UMF, however, it seems that to those that went to either event, the memories made and the moments they experienced were almost comparable to that of a religious experience. Yep, I’m jealous. Anyways now on to the music!

Hardwell just released an epic after-movie of his experience at Ultra and it is a goose-bump inducing film. As the winner of 2012′s International Dance Music Awards “Best Breakthrough DJ” he did not fail to deliver an epic performance.
Watch for yourself below:

The songs featured in the Hardwell video go as followed:
1. Kontiki – Hardwell & Dannic

“Nobody likes Deep House”

- My younger brother

If you agree with him, then skip the following song suggestion…
Noir & Westboy – She’s Got My Heart (Larse Remix)
This post wouldn’t be complete without a some of my favorite kind of medicine aka deep house. If you’re a sucker for synth lines that speak to the soul and aching vocals earning for understanding then look no further because Larse, Noir, & Westboy will be delivering the goods. The bass line that drops at 3:42 will do you dirty. Be warned.

In my previous post, I mention Sound Pellegrino as label to follow. They have just released their podcast which contains some of their favorite tracks from the label and some of the friends of the labels. Give a listen to Episode 65 of their podcast below:

Ta Da here’s the tracklist:
TEKI LATEX mix:

Justin Martin “Ghettos & Gardens” [Dirtybird]
Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team “Ice Palace” [Sound Pellegrino]
Surkin “White Knight II” (Jackson & His Computer Band reprise) [Marble]
Matthias Zimmermann “George” (Noob remix) [Discobelle]
Nouveau Yorican “Quere Mas” (instrumental) [Defected]
Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team “Strange Touch” (a capella) [Sound Pellegrino]
Gremino “Lush” [Fade to Mind]
Myrryrs “Nimh” [Body High]
Javeon Mc Carthy “Precious” [PMR]

Here’s a little indie/dance from no other than Hot Chip to balance out the underground house I just threw in your direction. Night And Day is the first single from Hot Chip’s forthcoming album, In Our Heads out June 11/12.

I’ve noticed I have been lacking in Trance songs so here’s one of the newest releases.

Here’s the music video for Dash Berlins’ “Go It Alone” (Yes, I know I’m pointing out the obvious). Like almost every Trance song, I feel like I’m watching a mini-version of The Notebook or any other romance movie featuring Ryan Gosling. It’s cute, it’s inspirational, it’s Trance. In all seriousness though, Armada Music is an awesome label follow it on any of the various social networks that they’re on for some top notch Trance and non-Trance tracks like this one.

This video always makes me want to sell an organ in order to attend Sensation White.

Lastly, I would hate to not include a track from some of the biggest bros in the EDM industry…DADA LIFE! Chuckie’s remix of Rolling Stones T-Shirt is the type of dirty, dutch banger we’ve all come to know and love. Download this remix for free below:

Tuesday “Tax-Day” Tunes

16lmw68 Tuesday Tax Day Tunes

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Today is the last day for you to get your taxes done unless you file for an extension. I seriously doubt that corporate America reads this blog so if you’re just here for the music ignore my PSA.

Now for some tasty tracks to get you groovin on your Tuesday evening. I’m gonna try to include a little bit of everything in this post, not just my recent typical deep house/super hipster music taste that most no one really rages to unless you live in Europe or some other country that is light years ahead of American music trends.

Download These Funky Underground House Tunes:
To begin we have Leo Perez with his funkadelic masterpiece, Colors. Prepare for some serious funkage. Leo manages to sample the Nu Shooz’s classic track “I Can’t Wait” (Watch it here) into a groovy deep house rendition. Now enough of my rambling on about this tracks funkadelic vibes just give it a listen and feel the grooves for yourself.

Now, to move to something a little more aggressive. This is a track by Scuba titled “The Hope”. The vocals are seductive and in your face. However, the provocative lyrics build up to an in your face kicker of a bass line. Then top off the track with some delicious melodies layered over the industrial beat and you have yourself one hell of an epic track. Enjoy my friends! <3

The first time I ever attended a rave was Electric Daisy Carnival 2008. It was one of the most life changing moments, but most importantly it was the first time I saw Moby perform live. I had been a gigantic Moby fan prior to attending EDC, but after witnessing him dj, I realized that I had just had a religious experience. 4 years later, his music still gets to me like no other musician can. The following track contains a sample of Moby’s Natural Blues (Watch It Here). The original song never fails to give me goosebumps and this remix does a pretty good at accomplishing the same task. Drop this in your set and if you have Moby fans in the audience, they will go bananas.
Hard (Original Mix) by Crazibiza on Grooveshark

Now, on to something more uplifting and fun. Here we have Disco Stu & J Monkman sampling Prince’s Kiss into a deep house masterpiece. I’ve been dropping this song in my own DJ sessions and it mixes well with a lot of the other soulful deep house songs that are currently being released. It’s a fun track so just download this choon and get down.

I now present to you all Maelstrom, a producer I just recently discovered during my Beatport digging sessions. His most recent release on Sound Pellegrino Records (A Label I highly recommend anyone to follow) is his bumpin’ track “Pool Chicks”. This is a fun track that would be perfect for some A cappela layering. The bassline is just straight up in your face; if mixed properly this track would be pure fire on the dance floor. I leave this challenge to all you aspiring and/or established DJs reading this blog. icon wink Tuesday Tax Day Tunes

Spotify Lazy Sundays

 Spotify Lazy Sundays

First off, I hope all you EasyLovers had a most fantastic weekend. icon wink Spotify Lazy Sundays
Now, let’s get down to business.

There is only so much time I’m willing to wait while uploading music to zippyshare, mediafire, hulkshare, soundowl, blah blah blah, and so on. However, almost a year ago Spotify was introduced to the masses here in the United States and things have started to take off. Just recently they have introduced a super efficient way for me & other bloggers to publish playlists with the songs I want to introduce to all the readers of the EasyLove Records blog.

All you guys have to do is subscribe to Spotify and boom we’re in business!
They make it super easy for you by linking Spotify to your
Facebook account in order to save you time. So let’s begin with
making sure you’re subscribed to Spotify if not click on the logo below:
spotify logo Spotify Lazy Sundays

Sexy, Smooth, & Soulful Collection:

Favorites include:
*You’re Not A Dj (Luna City Express Kung Fu Mix) – Gene Siewing
I’m a “laptop” dj so I found this song to be immensely entertaining.
I’ll go watch some Kung Fu movies now & learn how to spin.

*Let Me In (Lee Curtiss Mix) – Simon Baker Feat. Debukas
There is so much funk going on in this remix that I don’t know
if I want to start dancing or just post this song on every EDM forum
in order to promote the shit out of these 3 musicians.

*Video Games (Jamie Woon Remix) – Lana Del Ray
Let’s face it Lana Del Ray is blowing up right now & her girl next door
persona make it even harder to resist her music. So I’m giving you folks
what I believe to be the best remix of her hit song Video Games. I first
heard this remix in Tijuana, Mexico and it sounds just as good on this
side of the border. Thank you SiriusXM!

*Endconnection – Mittekill
So I have this dirty little habit of not paying for my music. I know it’s going to
end up screwing me over one day if hasn’t already, however, I’m a broke twenty year
old who has to take out college loans to support myself, so I’ll keep justifying my crimes.

Anyways to get to the point of my miniscule confession, Mittekill was about to have me fork over two dollars yesterday when I couldn’t find the full version of this song online.
Alas, Spotify (my hero) came to my rescue and now I share with you
this epic French track that’s gonna be on repeat all evening.

Kick back and enjoy the Spotify playlist dudes & dudettes.

Bonus Material:

Huxley – Let It Go (Hypercolour) from Hypercolour on Vimeo.

[|Let It Go - Huxley| Click to Download @ 320KBPS]
I have a way of becoming obsessive with music and this song has me addicted. I think the music video really makes the song since it gives a clear meaning to the already
pretty blatantly understandable lyrics.
Apparently, the 80s are back; I for one am not complaining.

And not one to shy away from Bromance,
here’s the latest from the Bromance Records Label.

This is a remix of Lana Del Ray’s Born To Die by G. Vump. G. Vump is a side project of Guillaume (The Shoes) & Louis (Brodinski) that started more than a year ago. They have described it as “Purple Techno”. Lana Del Ray’s vocals are pure sex and the bass and tempo of the remix is absolutely astounding. Just listen and realize that you can’t help, but fall in love with this remix.

Yours Truly,

Ruthy A. Lopez
